For over 10 years, the Condon brothers have built a name for The Maverick Rejects as one of Newcastle’s hottest live bands.
Founded on the commitment that the role of live bands should be more than just serving up super-polished but fairly vanilla covers of ‘Dakota’, The Maverick Rejects aim to offer a set alive with interactivity, fun and quirky arrangements of songs you love … just probably never as you’ve heard them before!
We’ve got Beatles, Green Day, The Kinks, Kaiser Chiefs, Queen, Status Quo, Beach Boys, ABBA, Arctic Monkeys, Elvis, Sex Pistols, Foo Fighters, Chuck Berry, The Fratellis, CCR, Mötorhead, The Jam, The Proclaimers, The Who … We’ve even got Girls Aloud, Shania Twain and Disney Songs for good measure!
So, if you’re looking for Sex on Fire and Snow Patrol, we’re sorry but we ain’t got it, but there are some other amazing bands out there for you!

Tom Condon
Vocals & Guitar
Tom formed The Maverick Rejects with brother, Joe Condon, in 2008, and in the years that followed they played in countless venues in the region building the band’s reputation and repertoire.
Highly influenced by the likes of the Ramones, Green Day and Status Quo, Tom’s signature chord led, driving guitar makes the basis for the band’s Punk N’ Roll brand.
Tom currently works in Marketing at AMV Live Music LTD. in Gosforth.
Joe Condon
Vocals & Drums
Picking up the sticks at just 10 years old, Joe was immediately a natural on the ol’ pots and pans. By the age of 12, he was gigging regularly and getting paid to play music while his friends were out on paper rounds!
Undoubtedly one of the best drummers in Tyneside, Joe’s musical upbringing and drumming style has had a huge effect on the band’s sound.
Joe is currently studying Business with Marketing at Northumbria University.
DAN REID
Vocals & Bass
While he may be the band’s freshest face, Dan has played bass in The Maverick Rejects since mid 2015, spotted and swiftly recruited after supporting TMR with his previous band, The Ketones.
A seasoned bass player and vocalist himself, he’s well at home with the long time Maverick Rejects and brings thundering groove, as well as much needed eye candy to the band!
Dan studies Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University.
